An arm lift, or in medical terms, a “brachioplasty,” is a procedure to reshape, recontour, and correct the look of the upper arms. How is an Arm Lift Performed?

During arm lift surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Trey Sands, will place incisions on the underside of the upper arm to remove excess skin and fat. The remaining skin is then pulled taut and sutured to create a tighter, smoother appearance. In some cases, liposuction may be administered to remove excess fat from the area.

The limited-incision arm lift, or “mini brachioplasty,” is a less invasive type of approach. A smaller incision is placed in the armpit, through which excess skin and fat are removed. This type of arm lift is suitable for patients with mild to moderate excess skin and fat in the upper arm area.

Extended Arm Lift

The extended arm lift, or “circumferential brachioplasty,” is the most extensive arm lift surgery. The procedure involves an incision around the entire upper arm, removing excess skin and fat and tightening the underlying muscles. This type of arm lift is best suited for patients with significant excess skin and fat in the upper arms, extending onto the back.
